We are using excel 2003 for office automation on server side using VB tool and with macro to customise the output. But this is not supported by microsoft and also we are getting many issues in it. So we planned to move to .Net frame work open xml architecture to generate excel.

But can i run macro using .Net frame work, since i may not be using excel application itself in my new architecture. If so is it possible to create a open xml for these macro in order to substitute it. Also if i am using template earlier, how do i use that here.

Please advice on the above
