Issue with the Oslo installer on windows 7rc 32bit running inside vmware workstation 6.5

After clicking on Install or Customize in the Oslo installer, I get to the license terms screen with just the license terms text box with no other controls around it.

I tried running with and without themes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Oslo Setup team looked into this and had a couple of suggestions.

First, try a passive install as described in the readme:

OsloSetup.exe install /passive /ae

You can also try disabling "Accelerate 3D Graphics" as described in the thread http://communities.vmware.com/message/1184328?tstart=0. That is, disable DirectX support in VMWare.

Note also that if the UI in the setup program doesn't work right, then it's possible that "Intellipad" and "Quadrant" won't either, so disabling DirectX is probably a good thing in any case.

Let us know if either of these options work.

Update: I even tried dragging the selection rectangle around it and could see that the text box was the only control in that window.

For posterity, disabling the DirectX support in VMWare did fix the problem. Sounds like a bug in VMWare's driver for Win7.
