Re: Missing Files in Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.050727

When I run Norton Win Doctor it shows 10 errors all related to Microsoft.Net Framework.  When I click on "Repair All" it does not do anything.  When I click on "Advanced" and Highlight 1 problem after another, clicking on "repair" on each individual error, the repair box comes up.  In the repair box it gives possible solutions and normally you can click on the repair botton that is in the solution box and it will repair the problem.  You cannot press on that botton in this error solution box.

The possible solution box said," MSVCR 80.dll might be located on a removable drive, a no visible volumn such as a NTFS drive or on a network.Framework\V2.0.5 07 cannot find the file.  If C:\WINDOWS\microsoft.Net\Framework\V2.0.507 cannot find the file, you might need to reinstall C:\WINDOWS\win SxS\x86_Microsoft.vc80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x_www_Ode06acd"

I reinstalled the Microsoft.Net Framework, as the solution box suggested, in fact two times, and it did not make the repair.

I did a search for the missing MSVCR80.dll, by clicking on the start botton, then search,

all files, search in C:\Windows.  I found the file that had the missing MSVCR80.dll. I copied the file.  then  right clicking on the Start,  then left clicking on the Explore, then found C:\WINDOWS\system32.  I then pasted the file.  It did not work.

I went back to the file that contained the missing MSVCR80.dll and opened it.  Three different MSVCR80.dll came up.  I highlighted all three and copied them, then went back to the C:\WINDOWS\system32 directory and pasted

IT WORKED!! NORTON WIN DOCTOR NOW DOES NOT SHOW ANY ERRORS.

But, see:

http://forums.wugnet.com/msvcr80-dll-missing-NET-ftopict445120.html

which says that all is well with .NET and that the problem is in Windoctor. I ran across both that thread and yours in looking for a solution to the same problem.

Hi Donna,

as a previous user had written:

Well now - I more than thank you . . .

Maybe using Norton Win Dr. results of "missing files" is not really so important - but it certainly can be obnoxious.

Everytime I run it - the same thing - missing 11 files of.....

So your solution definitely works.

Thank you tons for sharing your advice - and solution - to this obnoxious problem.

And I will, in the future, use this website for other problems in the future. There hopefully will be "other Donna's" thaT share their research and time consuming work in solving problems that others also have.
