I've tried4 times now and each time results in the same error.
Windows Installer This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
I'm running Windows XP Pro 32bit Service Pack 3 on one machine, and then on a different machine in another location Vista Ultimate sp2 64bit.
Is there any alternative download links? or even somewhere I could get access to the source code as it's mainly that I'm interested in seeing. |

I am hoping this corrupted download issue is resolved now. I did notice the issue; had it investigated and all files re-propgrated to all download sites. I no longer notice the issue (IE 8 on Win Server 2008 from my home machine was the only machine I had the issue on). There must have been at least one file that was corrupted on a download server, but that is just a guess. It does not mean its entirely resolved, but I hope so.

I am having the file re-propogated to the download site. Not sure what has happened. It will likley be Monday before the replacement file shows up; somehow it seems be corrupted on one or more download servers.

I had the same issue - I was using Netscape - a simple re-download fixed the issue. Jody |

I've tried the link again and had no success with it it still gives the same errors. It's nothing to do with anti-virus being installed as both machines use different anti-virus applications.
Could it be something to do with the region I live in, I'm In Alberta, Canadaif that is the deciding factor in where the download is mirrored from?
I am running Internet Explorer 8 on both machines which may be the issue.
I'll try firefox later and see if it works.
Thanks
Pete

I tried the link with firefox and again on my home pc and I still have the same issues.
I've tried cleaning my temp files and internet history etc and still no luck.
Greg, could you ask for the source code to be put on codeplex or the msdn code gallery?
Many thanks Peter

This was re-propogated this week. Try the download again; and try to save locally before running the MSI. I still have folks looking into why some users are getting this; in my mind it can only be a corrupt MSI on one or more download servers...If you try a few times, I believe you would eventually get a valid download; but have people looking into this issue as it should work all the time, and has not been an issue in the past.

I've tried four times last night, and once this morning, with no luck. Is there any trick to getting a different server (logout/login of my Live account, restart browser, etc) or is it just random? |

I successfully managed to download it finally this morning.
I don't know if there is a trick to it but once greg posted his last response it seemed to be ok in my region (Western Canada).
It must just be a random load balancer.
The other thing you could do is try using a different browser (firefox) it could be internet explorer 8 i've had some pretty bad issues with it since I accidentally windows updated it onto my machine.
Good luck in getting it to work! in total it took me approximately 8 attempts.
