Expresso

This is just a FYI on those who use the Regex tool, "Expresso". I noticed that on my computer it takes a while to load, so I ran the NGEN tool on it and it speeds up startup dramatically, for me anyway.

Anyway, after you install Expresso or if you already have it, use my tool to select the EXE from the folder and run NGEN on it and you will notice startup improvements

I downloaded it, but it needs .Net framework to run. But I can't find a word about this requirement on its website. I think it's better to add a note about this. There are still many users(like me) don't have .Net framework installed. By the way, who is the author of Expresso? I visited its website, but there's no such information. Though I can't use it, I suppose it's a great tool. I am also curious how it could be free, while another tool - Power GREP sold at $149.

If I am not mistaken, PowerGrep is a Windows grep tool designed for Find and Replace. Expresso is a Regular Expression tester. So they serve different purposes.

Any particular reason you can't install the .NET framework? I believe the author of Expressois Jim Hollenhorst.

Sorry, I haven't used it, can't Expresso do a find and replace?
So it's a tester like Regex Buddy?

I don't install .Net framework, just because I don't like it justas I don't like Java Runtime.
I really don't like such feeling of runing a samll tool but need to install a big runtime lib.

Maybe I'm a little odd and old, :)
